Do not miss out on the family photo shoots with the bride and with the groom.
You cannot afford to miss out on the family shots as the official wedding photographer officially covering a wedding event. This should be something that you should work out pretty much ahead of time. One of the biggest challenges that come along with the family shots is the fact that the wedding photographer is not all that familiar with the different family members from either side of the bride and groom. This can pose a real problem because when it all comes down to it, you do not know who you should pose with and how to pose them and this can be a real problem especially given the fact that you are basically operating on a very limited time window. One way around this would be to ask the bride and the groom for a go-to person who can technically coordinate the family photo shoots for you. That way, you have that person do all of the work for you while all that you need to focus on is to just work on the composition of your photos. Make sure that you consider this as one of the top priorities because the family photos are the important shots that you absolutely cannot afford to miss out on.
Get out of the way as much as you can.
As a wedding photographer derby, you need to learn the art of being invisible. A great wedding photographer knows pretty good and well that invisibility really is a superpower. Try to get out of the way of people and try not to obstruct anyone’s view at some point. Assess the venue well ahead of time and plan out the way that you will be able to position yourself. Make sure that you technically find a spot that will let you take the photos that you want to take without having tons of people pass by you and blocking your view. One of the most important tricks that you can pull this off is to invest in a really great telephoto lens. A telephoto lens will basically allow you to keep a respectable enough distance and still be able to take the close up photos that will more or less comprise the money shots in your wedding photography coverage. You also need to make sure that you move fast and are quick on your feet. You need to make sure that you get to wear comfortable shoes as well in the process so that you can keep up with the ever dynamic elements that come along with a wedding photography coverage.
It is not a contest of who gets the most shots. As a wedding photographer, the notion is really quite incorrect when it comes to the aspect of thinking that the more photos you shoot, the more efficient you are. That is actually not the case. The general rule that you should follow through on is to go for three clicks per scene or per person and no more than that.
Wedding photography usually works on the principle of twos and working with a second lens as well as a second camera is no different, when you come to think about it at the end of the day. The truth of the matter is that it is far easier to switch in between cameras whenever you have a need for a change of lens view or perspective as opposed to having to stop dead in your tracks and fumble with the dismounting and mounting of a different lens on the same camera. The process is not smooth and fluid and when it all comes down to it, weddings are really fast moving events and people and things tend to move fast during weddings. That is the main reason why you should go well out of your way to think things through as much as possible. If you have a second camera mounted with a different kind of lens, you can just quickly switch in between cameras without ever having to miss a beat all throughout the process. You will not be losing any amount of momentum that you may have already built and more than that, you will not lose any of the important moments out there since you are keeping your eyes on the prize the whole time.
Get a second shooter
You will also need to make sure that you get a second shooter and bring him with you during your wedding photography gigs. This is to ensure that there is someone who will be able to pick up the slack when you are following through on your important list of shots that you will need to deliver to the bride and groom. A second shooter makes for really great cover for all those moments wherein you cannot be on two different places at the same time. This is a bit of a challenge though for most of the people new to wedding photography mainly because of the fact that it costs a considerable amount of money to be able to hire out another professional in the wedding photography field.
Fortunately enough, there is actually a way for you to be able to work around this. All that you will need to do is to make sure that you are able to reach out to new wedding photographers in your area and offer them your services as the second shooter in the wedding gigs that they have in exchange for them being the second shooters as well in yours. This is something that will work well for both parties and something that will not cost you a dime.
Do not try too hard to be liked
Your clients basically hired you because they think that you are skilled as an essex wedding photographer, not because you will make a great host who can start up an interesting conversation anytime. Chances are, people like you pretty much the way you are. There is no need to try extra hard to get them to like you. Just be yourself, be friendly and respectful and that should be it.
Wedding photographers who film their images in RAW will tend to have more options when it comes to sharpening the pictures that they are able to take. You see, when RAW is being edited, wedding photographers tend to have access to options like noise algorithm and the like and those are the kinds of options that can seriously make the difference between regular photos and truly outstanding photos. This particular kind of difference will really bring in the money shots, when it all comes down to it. Sharper and crisper looking photos out there always come out looking great. Details and everything else in between matter a lot.
You get to edit your pictures without being destructive.
The post shoot editing process of the images that you take is technically just as important as the filming process of the images itself. You need to make sure that you are more or less able to really protect your images from all kinds of risks – even it has to include protecting your images from yourself as well. Editing can be a really tricky thing to do. One wrong click or one wrong modification can mean you lose your image forever, unless you shoot in RAW, of course. The beauty of being able to edit without any kind of trouble whatsoever or without having to worry at all about ruining the images eventually because RAW files will always protect themselves. On the other hand, JPEG tends to ruin the images whenever you edit them because they will automatically save the new edited version. This means you will not be able to retain the original version of the images from the moment that you took them. As a matter of fact, JPEG is usually regarded as a particularly “lossy” file that tends to mess up all of the other pictures.
You get better prints.
A lot of people might have particularly mixed emotions and opinions about the concept of pictures that are in prints, given the advent of technology and the digitization of pretty much anything and everything else under the sun. However, believe it or not, people still pretty much appreciate the sentiment of really great looking prints one way or the other. The thing with RAW images is the fact that they prevent posterization in the quality of the photos. It means you get better looking prints all throughout as compared to when you film in any of the other formats available out there. Regardless of how relatively high tech things have become, great looking physical wedding albums are still pretty much in demand. Wedding photographers, such as wedding photographer surrey, know this for an absolute fact.
You get access to an efficient workflow.
The post shoot editing process of a wedding photography gig is usually one of the most hectic ones out there. You will need to work on a very limited time window of roughly around a few days after the wedding event itself and having an efficient work flow to let you work quickly through your workload is something that can really bring your work along.
Get as much experience as you can get your hands on.
When it all comes down to it, there really is no clear cut recipe to success. Success can happen differently to different people but one of the most common denominators to success is technically hard work and a lot of time being invested as well. If the going does not get easy for you to begin with, just keep holding on and keep treading on because what you can be quite rest assured of is the fact that things will really start to get easier one way or the other. Get as much industry experience as you possibly can. Do not be picky with the little photography side jobs that you get.
Most of them may not pay as much because of the fact that you have a very limited resume in the beginning but things really will get better. If you do not find anything in wedding photography just yet, take it anyway. You will be surprised how different legs of photography can offer out different and unique strategies that you can and will eventually find useful overall. Offer to assist in the wedding photography gigs of more experienced wedding photographers out there just to help you get your feet wet one way or the other.
Always shoot in RAW when covering for a wedding photography gig.
What you will need to understand and keep in mind all of the time is the fact that RAW file formats are always preferred by professional wedding photographers out there. It is because of the fact that RAW files offer all of the complete information recorded directly from the sensor of the cameras. The images are not auto edited or white balanced in any way, shape or form. What this means is that all of the original information is basically kept intact and not compressed or anything like that. This gives you all of the options to do all of the editing. This is extremely powerful stuff because you as the wedding photographer ultimately gets the last say down to the shifting of the color tone, the shadows, the highlights, and so on and so forth.
RAW file formats tend to eat up a lot of memory space.
This means that you will have to more or less double up on the amount of memory cards that you bring along with you during your wedding photography gigs. When it all comes down to it, this is a very small price to pay though compared to the quality of the photos that it brings in.
Back things up twice or as much as you can afford.
Always clear out your memory cards after every single gig and store them in two or more different places. Practice the rule of two’s for all things related to wedding photography one way or the other and that should put you in a pretty good place.
You need a second shooter, second camera, second everything when it comes to wedding photography.
Again, we go back to the fact that you do everything by the principle of two’s. A second shooter will make sure that you will be able to focus more on the important shots that you need to take because someone else is picking up on the slack.
Do not miss any important shots in wedding photography.
One of the more distasteful sides of wedding photography is when the bride and groom and the wedding photographer get involved in an argument about the things that are to be included and not included in a wedding photography service contract. The bride and groom will at times accuse the wedding photographer of not upholding his end of the bargain by missing out on some of the really important shots during the wedding day event. As the official Manchester wedding photographer, this is not something that you would like to come across with in any way, shape or form. This is an ugly argument that should be avoid and kept well out of the way as much as you can help it.
Talk it out with the bride and groom and ask for a specific list of shots that you will have to follow through with.
Get that list together and make sure that it is something that you are able to really follow all throughout the day of the coverage. You may also add in a few items of your own. Keep the list with you all of the time and really make it a habit to constantly check things off. This will ensure that you will be able to keep things on track and this will also make sure that you have some sort of proof by the end of the coverage that you have followed through on everything that the bride and the groom have included in the list.
Keep your distance if you want to keep taking interesting photos.
More often than not, people on average do not feel too comfortable when it comes to having a camera shoved in their faces all of the time. Unless they are seasoned models and celebrities, you will come across some challenges when it comes to capturing really authentic looking facial expressions all throughout the wedding event. People tend to get a little nervous and uncomfortable when they feel as if they are being scrutinized with a camera all of the time.
You can easily overcome all of these challenges by maintaining a safe and comfortable enough distance every once in a while.
Once you start seeing people you are photographing getting bored and just uninterested, scoot over to the back of the room and mount a telephoto lens on your camera instead so that you will still be able to capture the closeups needed for the wedding coverage. You will soon see that people will start to ease up a bit and be more candid and more natural looking in the process.
Keep in mind of the fact that wedding dresses involve a lot of white.
The problem lies on the fact that the camera does not see the dress as something that is all white. Instead, what it sees is a bright spot that needs to be “fixed” in order to save the rest of the photo. This can make the bridal dress come out looking dull and a bit gray. You can fix this by simply dialing in some positive compensation.
Wedding photography is an extremely huge task that is being put on your shoulders. You have to keep in mind the fact that the bride and groom are basically entrusting you with the most important day in their lives as a couple and you owe just as much to them by making sure that you are prepared across all aspects. One of the most important things that you will have to prepare for would have to be the photography gear. After all, what is a Yorkshire wedding photographer without his wedding photography gear, right?
You will need a minimum of two cameras to start off with if you want to have a place in wedding photography. If you cannot afford the most expensive and the highest quality of cameras out there, a good place to start would have to be the Canon 5D. 5D cameras technically offer you full frames and this is something that can tremendously boost the quality of the images that you take. The size of the view finder is also quite satisfying based on what a lot of wedding photographers out there have experienced.
The viewing area is larger and far more convenient than the other cameras in the lower end of the spectrum. 5D cameras also have a shallow depth of field which makes them excelling in capturing portrait photos that are common in wedding photography. They will also get to provide you with better low light performance. This is something that can make things extremely easy for you if you are shooting in reception areas that do not have a sufficient amount of natural light streaming through at some point. 5Ds do not cost as much as the 1-series but they are still able to get the job done remarkably well. Make sure that you have a secondary camera that will serve as your backup or insurance for when something happens to your main one.
You will also need various lenses in order for you to get different angles and different perspectives for the pictures that you take. Ideally, you should start off with a telephoto lens and a wide angle lens. A telephoto lens will let you take close up photos from a comfortable distance which is required during moments like the ceremony, among other things. A wide angle lens will let you take group photos with ease and without so much difficulty. Lenses can cost a lot of money though so if this is something you are struggling with, opt for a medium zoom lens instead. It can do a little of both for only a fraction of the cost.
High quality camera bag
Make sure that you invest in a high quality camera bag that can fit all of your gear in it for easier carriage. Go for something that is padded and sturdy enough for rough handling. If you have the option to choose, try to look for something that is made out of weatherproof material so that it can withstand tough elements such as rain and extreme heat.
Make it an effort to really visit and acquaint yourself with the wedding venue.
Do it roughly a few days before the actual date of the event. Wedding photography is a touch industry niche to get into because of the fact that it requires a lot of time and a lot of work in order for a wedding photographer essex to be able to pull it off in the most professional manner possible. Visiting the wedding location ahead of time will let you become more familiar with the location. You will be better equipped with the knowledge of all of the best spots to pose your subjects in. You will also be able to better map out the sequence of events ahead of time. This will help you tremendously in being able to position yourself in areas wherein you will not be in the way of events or people but at the same time, you still get strategic advantage when it comes to the camera angles and perspectives that you will be getting for your photos.
Visit the wedding venue at around the same time of the day that the wedding event is happening.
This way, you will know how the shadows and how the lights will fall and how you will be able to play around with them. You can even offer this as an add-on option in your service package. You can cloak this as an engagement shoot. You get your practice shots and your clients get additional photos. It is a win-win situation whichever way you may look at it.
Make sure that you get to prepare for everything.
Believe it or not, there are so many things that can go wrong during the wedding day itself. Preparation is the main difference between a tragic event coverage and a successful one. Have a backup plan for everything and make sure that you always protect your files by all means. Pack for more than enough memory space that you could ever need. Make sure that all of your camera batteries are fully charged and make sure that you have at least two extra batteries per camera. Make sure that all of your memory cards are swiped clean and blank when you are preparing for the wedding day coverage. Plan everything out down to the last detail. Bring a backup or extra camera that will serve as your insurance. Map out the road routes that you will be taking so that you are able to make sure that you get to pick the most efficient route possible and to make sure that you arrive at the event well on time and with no details as much as possible.
Manage the expectations of the bride and of the groom.
Talk things out with them in detail and really listen to any questions that they might have. Try to answer as simply and as concisely as you possibly can. Simplify everything for them and make sure that there is no room left for assumption. You do not want to have any arguments that may spring from disputes brought about by misunderstandings about the agreement. It helps if you have all of the details down on paper. That way, both parties will have something to consult in the event of any confusions and so on and so forth.
If there is one rule that you will seriously need to observe in wedding videography, it would have to be the fact that you cannot overshoot. This is something that is extremely counterproductive and can really set you back a lot in terms of time, effort, and memory space as well. You will need to make sure that this is something that you are able to approach and go about as efficiently as possible. When you shoot too much footage, you go through tons and tons of moments filmed that may not exactly be as useful as you think they might be during the actual trimming process and wherein you collate everything so you can come up with your finished video. The editing part is actually the trickiest part of all and the less amount of unimportant footage you would have to comb through and dissect second per second, the fewer headaches you are likely going to get.
Work hard and work fast
Although it is usually advised that you work as efficiently as you possibly can, when it comes to the editing process of it all, the best way to go would have to be for you to edit hard and edit fast as well. Come up with an efficient enough work flow at some point. There are a lot of computer programs out there that can really pair up tremendously well with professionally shot video files one way or the other. Do not dilly dally too much when it comes to the editing process. Focus hard and do not procrastinate too much. You have to remember the fact that you are working on a limited time window when you are in the editing process because the clients will usually expect it roughly within only a few days after the actual wedding event.
Keep things natural
One of the most appealing aspects that wedding videos yorkshire offer is the concept of candidness and being “in the moment” in a way or so. The most visually impressive moments are usually the ones that actually come off looking authentic and natural. You can go ahead and do this by thinking a little more on your feet and veering away from the usual choreographed poses or scenes. It also pays if you are keen on the details. You should be able to pick up on certain social and conversation cues so that you can pre-empt the moments before they actually happen. You may not be so good at this in the beginning but you will see that the longer that you are able to work on this, the better you will eventually be at this.
Get the important shots taken care of and do not miss out on anything
Meet with the bride and with the groom and discuss the moments that they think are absolutely important and that they simply cannot do without one way or the other. At some point, you should be able to walk away with at least fifteen scenes or so. You should build it up with some ideas of your own and follow through with it all throughout the wedding event proceedings.
Always invest in the best pair of shoes that you can get your hands on.
Wedding photography will require you to always be on the move. You will need to walk around and run around a lot. You will be walking around and running around a lot and something that will be extremely tiring for you one way or the other. If you do not wear comfortable shoes for the occasion of covering a wedding event, you will not be able to go about with you tasks as efficiently as you would like to. You will end up being in pain and possibly being grumpy as well all throughout the time of your coverage. You will not be in the best possible shape that you hope to be at some point and that is something that can prove to be a bit of an issue for you because of the fact that you will need to think on your feet all of the time – both literally and figuratively. You do not want to end up being the grumpiest wedding photographer in the planet so you might as well plan for great looking shoes well ahead of time.
Make sure that you establish a great relationship with the bride and the groom about to be wed.
You need to find out everything that they can possibly want or need from your service and from the wedding photography side of things. This is the only way for you to be able to guarantee satisfaction. Draw out the lines of the service that you provide accordingly. The bride and the groom needs to understand exactly what they are getting in black and white. You should not leave any kind of room whatsoever for doubt or anything that is similarly related to that. Discuss if there are any particular traditions that the bride and groom might want to uphold one way or the other. You have to understand the fact that you are only as good as the approval of your clients for as far as delivery is concerned. No matter how good you are with your job, if it is not what your clients have asked for, then it is all futile and without good cause. Listen carefully to what your clients and trying to say and be genuinely concerned in making sure that you are able to follow through.
Come up with an actual physical list of shots that you will need to make.
This list of shots should come directly from the bride and groom. Meet with your clients and ask them for these items. Both parties should be completely aware of the items that are being included in the list. This will save you an awful lot of frustration in the long run. One of the biggest arguments that clients and wedding photographers like this Bristol wedding photographer have is the aspect of missed shots. That argument can turn ugly quite quickly. Try to avoid that issue as much as possible by planning for the list well ahead of time and remember to always keep it on yourself and follow through on your must have shots during the actual wedding.
If you are a new wedding photographer, then you should know well ahead of time that your first wedding coverage is something that you should prepare well for one way or the other. One of the most important facets in wedding photography that you will be able to do would be to prepare for would have to be the kind of gear that you bring along for the coverage. You will need the kind of gear that will allow you to bring all of the things that you could ever need without looking like a pack mule and without damaging your back and neck in the process. It is a tricky thing to do and a difficult balance to tread into but it has to be done if you are ever going to succeed in it.
Camera and backup
The most important part of your gear would have to be your camera and your backup equipment. It is crucial that you bring backup camera along in order for you to be rest assured in the fact that you have something else to use in the event that something happens to your primary or main camera. You cannot afford to just drop dead and stop filming in the middle of a wedding.
You will need to counter on and just expertly shift to your backup camera instead and without ever having to skip a beat. This is how professional wedding photographers Los Angeles conduct business and you should do the same. There are so many things that can happen to a camera in the middle of a wedding coverage. Do not allow yourself to be caught in a hopeless situation with no solution but failure in sight. Remember that you are a paid service provider and that service should be doled out no matter what happens.
Invest in three major lenses: a medium zoom lens, a telephoto lens, and a wide angle lens.
A medium zoom lens is one of the most versatile lenses out there. It will let you take gorgeous enough portrait photos while at the same time still be able to take close up photos from a comfortable enough distance. A telephoto lens will let you scoot to the back of the room and go about as invisibly as possible without ever skipping a bit. And lastly, a wide angle lens will enable you to capture architectural structures as well as group photos without ever having to worry about cropping anyone out just because they will not fit into the lens.
Get yourself a trusty and high quality tripod.
It will provide you with the kind of stability and balance that your camera needs for when you are shooting in areas that have very limited natural light available. Cameras tend to shake when shooting in low light. You will only worsen the situation if you proceed to holding the camera by hand and not mounted through a tripod instead.
Invest in a lot of memory cards as well as extra camera batteries as well.
Also make sure that you get a high quality camera bag that will bring everything together. Go for something that is roomy enough to get all your things together so you do not forget anything.
In wedding photography, there will be an awful lot of instances out there that will require you to get out of the way at certain important moments during the wedding events. This is something that you will need to prepare yourself for both mentally and through the equipment that you are able to bring with you at some point as well. There will be times wherein the bride and groom will not appreciate you having to be all up in their faces all the time.
You have to understand the fact that not a lot of people like being photographed all of the time
You have to be sensitive for the needs of the people whose photos you technically take. If you notice that they are starting to get bored or look just a tad bit too uncomfortable or awkward when you are taking their photos, then it is probably time for you to scoot a little to the back and keep your distance. That way, people will not get too self conscious. Having a camera aimed at you all of the time is something that can do just that to people. If you have a telephoto lens with you, you can take close up photos from a fairly good enough distance. One of the first rules of natural wedding photography after all is for you to be as invisible as you possibly can without having to neglect or miss out on any important shots out there. This is something that can prove especially true especially during the solemn wedding ceremony as well as during the toasting and the speeches.
And speaking of close up photos, make sure that you pay attention to all of the little details out there
Take a photo of all of the sentimental and touching little details that make up the venue of the wedding. Take note of the decorations, the rings, the Bible, the details on the name cards, and so on and so forth. The bride and groom have put in a lot of thought, time and effort into the composition of the entire wedding setup. Consider it as a bit of homage to them by making sure that you do not miss out on any shots at all and having to let them all go to waste at some point. It wise to usually take the photos of the reception venue while everything is still being set up because the lights are turned on and you are able to capture everything under really great light.
Outline what is clearly included in the service that you are providing.
If you can help it, try your best to make sure that you set everything in black and white. It is important that you manage their expectations as much as possible. This will save you the trouble of a possibly ugly argument between you and the bride and groom in the long run. It is also extremely important that you get a contract drafted out just so that you can get your liabilities and contingencies covered.
As a wedding photographer, quality should supercede pretty much everything else for you. Your main goal should be to be able to deliver great photos that are of the highest possible quality, for as long as you can help it. This is why RAW files are so much more preferred than JPEG files. You see, when you prefer to shoot in RAW, you get to record all of the data coming from your camera’s sensor. This is a super big deal when you come to think of it. Technically speaking, all cameras out there shoot initially in RAW. It is just that when a camera shoots in JPEG, it compresses the image to save memory space and does its basic processing for the image. You have to understand though that your camera is technically not as smart as your computer program paired up with your brain. If you get to have control of all of the processing options for all of your images, imagine the kind of results you will be getting. It is just mind blowing and incredible.
Shooting in RAW affords the York wedding photographer higher levels if brightness. JPEG can only offer out 256 levels of brightness whereas RAW can offer out up to 16,000 levels of brightness or even more. This is a huge difference in terms of the editing options that you will be able to more or less get your hands on. You get to make so much more adjustments than any other existing format out there will be able to offer you. You get to fix any possible issues with your images without having to choose between that and the quality of the images.
You also have extremely powerful photo sharpening options right at the very tips of your fingertips when you shoot in RAW. This is because you have access to noise algorithms and sharpening tools when you pair RAW images up with editing programs such as Lightroom and Aperture. These programs are still being continually worked on and improved and more and more feature and options are actually being added up to it. It means that you can even revisit any other old RAW files you may have and edit it with the new good stuff in the programs in the future.
You also get to enjoy editing your photos without ever having to fear that you will end up destroying it at some point. You see, when you edit RAW images, no matter what kind of editing or how many revisions you do, it leaves the original image pretty much untouched. That means that you can edit away and be creative without having to worry about your original files being ruined. On the other hand, JPEG files are quite infamous when it comes to the aspect of losing most of the file information whenever any modifications such as editing are being done on the files. As a matter of fact, it will automatically save the newest updated image straight away and you will have no way of retrieving the original one.
Photography is one of the most rewarding careers out there
It is also pretty much the dream career for people who love the craft while at the same time making a living out of it and making it their bread and butter. If this is something that you love and something that you know you can do in the long run, then by all means, work on perfecting your craft every single day. If this is a hobby that you have been delving into for quite a while now, you will eventually be really good at it. Somewhere down the road, someone will approach you and inevitably ask if you will more or less be able to give out your service in exchange for a certain professional fee. If you get to this particular point, this means that you will technically in the world of commercial photography already.
Anything that is paid and that is related to photography can definitely more or less fall under the category of commercial photography. That really is the main difference between commercial photography and shooting mainly for your own enjoyment. You have paying clients to answer to. You are tasked to bring together and bring forth into reality someone else’s vision so the very first thing that you would have to digest or keep in mind is the fact that you need to understand what they want. Really get through the nitty gritty of things and get to find out what they would really like to get out of hiring you and what they would like to do.
First thing you should do across the board is to discuss the details with your clients
Ask them what their vision is and ask them what they really want out of the agreement. The next step for you to do would be to make sure that you draw the line between expectations and reality. Make sure that you establish everything in black and white and make sure that your clients really get to understand it. Avoid any kind of disagreements between you and the client somewhere down the road by making sure that each side clearly understands what is in it for them and what is required of them. If things are done that way, then there will be very little (almost nothing) to argue about.
Ask the clients what the images are for
Ask them how the images will be used. That way, you will be able to make all of the necessary adjustments required in terms of the gear that you will be using, the materials for printing, the approach, and perhaps even the pricing. You will also be able to really successfully lay down all of the technicalities and pretty much get them all out of the way. Confirm what kind of deliverables you are basically dealing with. Ask them what kind of file resolution and format they require, among other things. Get a contract drawn up and figure out things such as usage rights and license rights.
Although it may be true that a tripod is probably one of the most important accessories that a wedding photographer could ever invest in at some point, it is also one of the most mistakenly used ones. If this is something that you would like to start getting for yourself at some point, then you should be aware of the most common mistakes that people make. It is extremely important for you to check out what most wedding photographers get wrong when they bring a tripod along. You need to be aware of what they are and how you will be able to fix them. You may not think that it may happen to you but believe it or not, then are far more common than you think. You need to be prepared and you need to know what you are supposed to do to patch up the situation should it decide at some point to rear its ugly head through the door.
When a wedding photographer is strapped for cash, which may happen to you especially if this is something that is fairly new to you and you are technically just starting out, you might be more or less drawn towards the cheaper end of the spectrum when it comes to getting a tripod. It is completely understandable. You have just shelled out some major bucks on your camera and lenses so you probably think that it makes a lot of sense of you cheapen out a bit on the tripod that you are buying but you might actually be making a serious mistake.
You might end up buying a tripod that is flimsy and not sturdy enough to last you all throughout the wedding event that you are covering. You need something that will really be able to hold up your camera even despite a light breeze blowing in the background. You will want to go for something that is firm and durable. However, as much as this is a priority, you will also need a tripod that is lightweight enough for you to be able to carry around with you because you will be on the move a lot. Now a good combination of durability and lightweight-ness may bump up the cost but it will be worth the money.
Do not leave your tripod behind
You are probably thinking that you do not need the extra load and bringing along a tripod can be heavy and bulky but if you would like to get the best quality of photos as much as possible, the extra weight is going to be worth every pound that you carry along. Cameras that have extremely high pixel count will need to be extremely still and the tripod will give you just the right kind of stability. If you hate having to lug a heavy tripod along with you at some point, then you might as well make sure that you go for something that is designed for you to be able to transport it easily and without so much hassle.
